I have been using Debian since Squeeze, and have used several distros since then. Ubuntu, Mint (and LMDE), OpenSUSE, Fedora, Arch (many derivatives), and since, I'm back to using Sparky (based on Debian Testing) Planning to move to straight Debian Testing soon.
Now, is any distro "based of Debian", rather be stable, testing, or unstable, use everything Debian has to offer, PLUS? I can't wrap my head around this. So, let's take Ubuntu, for instance. They are based on Linux, but Canonical really adding so much carp to it. So it makes it seem, that REALLY they aren't Debian, though they use its roots in their distro(s).
So, getting down to the nitty gritty, is it best to use straight Debian. Right? As everything is basically there.
Go on, what's your definition on "based on"?
Sorry if I'm forgetting something. It's 1AM here. My mind isn't clear.
