May be Android devices are set to a different WiFi protocol than the one used by Debian GNU/Linux?[..]
I wanted to clarify. it is actually an Intel (AC7265) wifi card that the Android devices do not see. Just for completeness, Windows and Linux devies do see the hotspot fine and connects auto to it.
