Yes @Hetzer that is right. To check code to make sure everything is legit is very difficult and effort intensive. That is why there are security patches pushed out for Linux Kernel, Firefox and other packages. This is also one of the reasons why people in Linux ecosystems tends to favor those packages which have a smaller code base over massive code base, for example System V Init vs SystemD. Not my intention to start a flame war over here on the merits and demerits of either of the packages. Just my opinion and observation.
@Uptorn I am indeed referring to a single window solution or suite which will give access to all security functionalities and settings. Not a broken up hodge-podge. Not dishing on ClamAV and the work that the Linux security enthusiasts do. It is great and phenomenal.
Some people do end up using browser extensions like NoScript to block all the JS/TypeScript functionalities. However the reality is that current web is based on JS and there are minuscule sites which work, with degraded performance, without JS/CSS enabled. That is where the security suite comes in handy.
I think we have digressed from the original intent of the post. Wanted to know if anyone has used it the Kaspersky tool? How did it perform? And if someone would recommend it? If not then what can be the reasons? Please note that current politics and Kaspersky links to Russian state is a valid reason. There are no invalid reasons, just inability to accept a viewpoint.![Smile :)]()
