Hi,
After installing Mbed Studio, versions 1.4.5 and then version 1.4.6, I found the stability of my installation of Debian 12.1 Bookworm to be much reduced. For the weird things happening, please see my posting "Mbed Studio leaves Debian 12 Bookworm unstable" at "https://forums.mbed.com/t/mbed-studio-l ... able/23484".
As stated thererin, I not only installed but deleted each version in turn. I have also dropped into /home/Downloads, /home/.cache, /home/.config, and /home/Wastebin and ensured that all(!) references to Mbed Studio have been removed. I have even re-installed Debian including reformatting the various partitions. Even as I type this, further instabilities continue to show themselves. Instabilities such as :-
a) the cursor jumping from one line to another, either before or after the current line, causing text to be inserted into the middle of an existing word;
b) text suddenly being highlighted and/or deleted, this even though the mouse left button has been neither clicked or held down;
c) on Youtube, placing the mouse pointer over a video screen in the middle of the screen causes that video to rapidly and erratically switch between "normal" mode and full screen with the soundtrack often doubling in speed.
My question is, is there any way that I can return Debian to its former famed stability ?
At present I cannot even install packages on the system. I have reviewed my previous postings on this forum about this and have re-implemented the advice given therein. Still no joy. As these things are still occurring after the partitions have been reformatted, all except /home, this leads me to suspect that there is something still(!) in my /home folder that is causing the problems. What can I do now ?
