It's just a guess but maybe something installed from one of those repositories has already broken something in Python or dbus. The reference to Ubuntu is curious. Was it something Ubuntu compatible but not Debian? That's about the limit of my understanding/guesswork.

The error codes bring up various posts in a search with suggestions for things to try - resetting dbus for example. I am not qualified to comment on the soundness of the advice, or whether it is applicable in your case, but somebody else might know.
