Hi Aki,
Thanks much for your message. I believe something changed because I did install some suggested updates over the past few months, and everything was working until recently.
I've updated everything (now running Debian 12.6, Linux 6.1.0-23-amd64 kernel, and OMV 7.4.4-1), but the problem persists.
The issue is that the scanner (DocuScan C4260) cannot connect to SMB on the Debian machine, I suspect because there is no response to the ARP request from the scanner.
I replicated it by trying many times, observing network activity with Wireshark. At the same time, I can send ARP requests from a macOS machine on my LAN, and the Debian machine responds as expected.
My only guess is that something has changed in the service that handles ARP on the Debian machine. IIUC, the content of the ARP packet is correct, so this is the only thing I can guess right now.
Any suggestions about how to proceed?
Thanks!
