Hello,
There is little chance of traces in the system logs if Debian reboots abruptly.
You can try installing the package kdump-tools :
It's rather unusual for Debian to suddenly reboot without any notice. It's more common to have a partial or complete freeze.Today I was doing a few hours of C coding in vscodium and twice my machine spontaneously rebooted randomly without warning.
Luckily I didn't lose any code changes as I had saved the file frequently.
After the reboot I tried to see if there were any coredumps etc but I could see nothing in the journal.
[..]
If and when it happens again, where should I look? Or which commands should I run to find the cause?
