When boot menu appears, strike E key, move cursor to line starting "linu" (which usually wraps one or more lines), remove quiet and splash=silent, then try continuing the boot to see what messages appear, or how behavior changes. If not enough or no help, repeat process, plus move to end of linu line, add a space, then add nomodeset and/or plymouth.enable=0, then continue to boot and see what results.
