Well I have to own up to this one, it was user error. I decided to give MX a try and that's when I saw my error. I chose the partitions that I had made earlier, /root, /home, swap. The install program moved forward and then I got a message, that root needs at least 5 gb to install. What" I had made root 45 when I set up the partitions. I went looking. Stupid me! Which ever partition program I had used, I had made the parts MB and not GB. Well that was what the DEB error message was all about, not enough space to install. Kind of maybe a little clearer message from DEB like MX had and I would not have been confused for so long.
