It seems the CPU is active in s2idle, so maybe having the fan running is intentional? Probably better than having the CPU overheat.

Things you could try are:
*Check for firmware updates with fwupmgr
https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd
*Try a more recent kernel from Debian Backports to see if any fixes have been added for power handling.
*Note the time then enter suspend for a few minutes, note the time again then come out of suspend and run:

To be honest, s2idle seems to be intended for suspending the laptop for brief periods. You wouldn't want to be using it for transporting the laptop in a bag, for example. Hibernate is probably a better option for any long period of non-use.
