In fact, this is what I had in mind, specifically for mozilla and gdb; sorry for the generic formulation. For Firefox, I was worried for a moment about losing some cookies that I need preserved, but then I have remembered that cookies are stored somewhere in the .mozilla folder, so its data in the .cache/mozilla folder will most probably only affect, as you have said, the speed of loading sites with cached data. My thumbnails folder is just 8 MB, and I see no recent write accesses there.Use ~/.cache/mozilla and ~/.cache/thumbnails instead of the entire ~/.cache if you want.
I didn't know about this, probably because I don't use intranetDesktop is the destination for files coming from intranet...

Regarding Wayland, it's not its design goal, but its design philosophy that bothers me; the many problems reported by others are just topping.
