VB is hosting Debian 12.7
The Flash drive is not a conventional SATA type but a module, so I could not easily swap hard disks if something in secure boot does not work out. The Dell SATA cable is not included, although there is space for an HDD.

I have found some machines won't secure boot to grub but goes straight to Windows, such as Lubuntu. Lenovo server is like that, but my Toshiba Laptop was okay. So I decided to use VB as the machine is fast enough, with the guest editions.

Debian Gnome went through fine, and I ran the guest editions from the VB, so I can use full screen and shared folder. Though Dropbox does not have an icon, but that is another issue.

Debian LXDE (and others) with Gnome deselected at installation time. I tried to run the guest editions from the VB, but there was no activity and nothing was installed, so I do not get a good full screen and my shared folder. Though Dropbox does have an icon, and is fine, which is not this issue.

So in both cases, I clicked on autorun.sh on the VB guest additions' disk.

I did try the repository version unsuccessfully, which is in any case an older version.

So what have I missed?
