Actually it again stopped after a while now. The RAID encountered a HDD failure and the MegaRAID CLI now claims the controller doesn't exist.
Probably the only route is to go back to an older version of the kernel and driver that match.
I use an 9260-8i controller that is not supported in the current Braodcom drivers anymore.
