Thank you for your help. There probably are missing parts of Debian 12.7, but Gnome is the most complete. I have Debian 11.11 LxQt running fine, a little messing about at first, but that has always been the case sometimes.
Debian 11.11 LxQt ran autorun.sh without issue. Not an exactly scientific test because I never tried LxQt Debian 12.7
The thing I have left to do is make the shared folder from windows readable on Debian.
I did pursue using terminal both logging in as root and not doing that but pasting the CDROM path or CDROM each of the Linux files. This failed, mostly nothing happened or there was a permission issue. I do not plan to look much further into this issue.
