If the only problem with your installation is that you accidentally filled it with files, you could just boot a live Linux from USB and remove them.Edit: Apparently there's so little free space in / that Debian won't start. I suspect this happened because of an incorrect mv command that dumped a bunch of random files into the / partition. I'll try reinstalling in the morning (bedtime now, cats think they're starving).
