You can check system logs for errors.I'm [..] running Sid. This has worked well until today when I did an update, got a new kernel, and rebooted.
Plasma/wayland refuses to start, it just goes right back to the login screen. XFCE/wayland does the same.
Both Plasma and XFCE load fine using X11. Same thing happens when booting older kernels.
