Having the same issue since the last dist-upgrade for Debian Testing. Laptop mic was working before the upgrade.
The mic is now shown as inactive in KDE sound settings on "Stereo Ouput + Stereo Input" profile. It won't turn active when using a audio capture or when using Slack for an example.

`pactl list short` commands shows the mic as SUSPENDED.
But interestingly, when I changed the Audio profile to "Pro Audio", I can see 3 active mics and one of them ("Pro 6") will capture the mic input.This is the only way I could get the mic to work after the upgrade.
