I have a Dell laptop with a eSATA Dell K01B enclosure. Inside the enclosure is a bluray drive from Matshita (Panasonic).
Everything works flawlessly if the enclosure is attached when the system boots.
If the enclosure is removed, then:
- it is not seen by the system anymore (previously /dev/sr0 disappears)
- insert / remove of the enclosure doesn't trigger any message in the system logs
The only way to access the enclosure again is to attach it to the laptop and reboot
Please help.
