Although it's only been a couple more days since my original post, it still appears that the problems only happen when restarting Windows and booting into Debian, and does not seem to happen when powering on and booting straight into Debian. I will let you know if I observe anything different over the next few days.
I have also tested the UEFI fast boot setting and it does not make any difference.
So, if it is the case that Windows' settings are being preserved in the sound card during a restart, is there anything I can do about it so that I don't have to do a full shutdown and wait before powering back on? Could this be more of a Windows problem than a linux problem? Or would a newer linux kernel with newer drivers handle things better?
