The only time I've had something like this happen, it was related to the power supply, and it was a known issue.
Open a terminal and run
Then open up LibreOffice or whatever and start typing some sentences.
As soon as the repeat happens check the log at that time.
Something may show up in that log.
You could check too at the time the repeat happened.
