If the old SSD is SATA and the new SSD is NVME, this is not a surprising result. Also, support for NVME access and NVME booting aren't necessarily equivalent. Is the new one in an M.2 port? If yes, then booting should be supported. If not, it's likely boot from elsewhere is not supported. Booted to Ubuntu, please get input/output from the following to paste here:Take a look here:
