From the Debian Bug Tracking System point of view, the bug is still opened:From the point of view of Mate Project (https://mate-desktop.org/), there hasn't been a newer version since 2021-08-10 (current version is 1.26); Debian versions are:I wasn't able to replicate your issue. It could be interesting to get a gdb record or a strace log of the applet starting and running in your installation.Code:

I've read some documentations about the strace command, but evidently I don't write the right syntax... thanks in advance (as usual!!)
