There are no nfttables rules and I am connecting to the server using ssh, and testing the port by issuing the telnet command, if that is what you by how do I connect to the server.
My server is provided by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Did some digging and I realised that they have activated an saas level virtual firewall called Security Rules. Port 7890 isn't opened in this virtual firewall.
Apparently, opening a port in the OCI is a bit of a hassle according to some user feedback. So, that's my next task. I am going to mark this topic as solved for now. I shall get back if I face issues even after opening the port in OCI.
