Hello,
Hope this helps.
Does the wireless machine2 connection drop for incompatibility with your home's access point protocol ?EDIT 1:
[..] I had to go somewhere outside my home network (to a friend's house) and I took my second notebook (machine 2) which was the only computer connected to the network and consequently the only Linux with NetworkManager running and to my surprise, the disconnection problem stopped happening... when I returned to my house and connected to the network, the problem returned, exactly the same.
It is very unlikely. Can I assume then that the problem is that there is another device (machine 1) on the network that also has NetworkManger running? Why and how is this possible?!
You can check:How to deal with this situation?
- Access point (AP) configuration and its compatibility with regional configuration for wireless standards
- wireless adapter configuration and its compatibility with regional wireless standards
- compatibility between the WiFi standards supported by "machine 2's" wireless adapter and the AP
- nearby sources of wireless interference
You can try with a newer kernel/firmware for Debian Backports.Furthermore I verified that:
- On machine 1, the firmware-realtek package does NOT support RTL8821CE
How can we proceed with this information?
- On machine 2, the firmware-atheros package supports QCA9377
Hope this helps.
